Advice from David Ogilvy !!

When Patricia Sellers, a reporter for Fortune Magazine, asked David Oglivy for advice on building and running a business, the 80 year old advertising legend gave her this timeless advice...

1. Remember that Abraham Lincoln spoke of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. He left out the pursuit of profit.

2. Remember the old Scottish motto: "Be happy while you're living, for you are a long time dead."

3. If you have to reduce your company's payroll, don't fire your people until you have cut your compensation and the compensation of your big-shots.

4. Define your corporate culture and your principles of management in writing. Don't delegate this to a committee. Search all the parks in all your cities. You'll find no statues of committees.

5. Stop cutting the quality of your products in search of bigger margins. The consumer always notices -- and punishes you.

6. Never spend money on advertising which does not sell.

7. Bear in mind that the consumer is not a moron. She is your wife. Do not insult her intelligence.

10 Best Applications for Android phones

Android is Google's mobile operating system having more than 1 lac applications.

Its being a long time using an android phone so i thought to share some interesting applications which makes our life easier and interesting.

1. Pulse Reader: Its a very interesting RSS and news reader with the integrated Google reader sync and having best user interface.

2. TweetDeck: Second on the list is TweetDeck which i think is best application for posting updates via twitter, facebook, google buzz and foursquares.

3. Evernote: Best notepad with tight sync with multiple platforms i.e desktop, iOS etc. The feature which makes this application unique is its ability to read text from an image file and index it as a tag for future searches.

4. Skyfire Browser: Its a full html browser for android having full flash support and can play youtube videos within the browser and its amazingly fast.

5. MixZing Player: Best music player for android having equalizers and preset supports.

6. Google goggles: With this application you can scan any object through camera and get the instant info.

7. Places: The best application to see what is interesting around you.

8. Angry Birds: The best game on android.

9. Space physics: A very interesting physics game where just swipe over screen to make customised objects immediately.

10.Blow up: Another on of the best games available on android OS
